Ceres Bus Terminal , Dumaguete

 

To Cebu City  :  trip leaving  8:15  at Ceres Bus terminal Dumaguete. Cost 200 PHP

via Ferry in Tampa. to Cebu city.  No transfers needed. For the ferry Tampa you pay 80 PHP ,

but stay with the bus and continue trip to Cebu City.  Takes 4 hours.  Only one ctrip a day.

To Malatapay : take Ceres Bus to Bayawan and ask conductor to let you off at Malatapay.

Take a 10 min walk from market to Liberty´s Lodge.

Forest Camp near Valencia ( about 5 Km distance)

Need motorbike to get there.

Wonderful park with pools.   Entrance fee 80 PHP

 

Geothermic powerplant  ( follow the road up , 8Km )

Steam comes out of the soil. Dont burn your feet!

 

Waterfalls in jungle like atmosphere  ( 7 more Km upwards the road)

Very exhausting 350 Steps down and up again . Entrance fee 50PHP

 

Ear problems after diving

It happened to me and here is what the ear doctor Misses Rayes in Dumaguete gave me:

 

·  Hydrogen Peroxide  and Q-tips to clean the ear. ( you hear it bubble )

· If ear is swollen, a medicine : Dalzen Tablets ( antiswelling ) 3 Tabs , 7 day

· Last year Dalzen was not sold any more. Ask for a substitute in Pharmacy.

· If Pain : Dolfenal

· Since inflamed ear was caused by fungus in the water antifungus medicine is needed.

· Antifungus ear drops: MICONAZOLE   

· Antifungus is the main treatment for getting rid of the inflamed ear.     

· MICONAZOLE is not available in the Pharmacy.

· Liberty bought a supply of this and can be bought for 600 Peso per 10 ml bottle from Liberty.

· If  this does not work, you use  antibiotica : Ponstan ( Mefenamic acid ) 1 tab 5 days but should be the last measure only.

 

In general: 

Clean your ear each after diving with a mixture of Ethyl-alcohol and Vinegar 50 :50 by using a Q-tip.

This will prevent all infections.
